Sail Simulator 4.2i is for serious training and multiplayer racing! With Sail Simulator 4.2i you can learn to sail and navigate on your computer. A special training course manual assists you while you are practising in the sail training area. Sail Simulator is the ideal dry-land training tool and is used for training at sailing schools.
Multiplayer racing - A very attractive option is to test your skills against other virtual sailors, for example in America´s Cup racers or Volvo Ocean racers. Multiplayer is possible on the Internet or a Local Area Network. We have improved the multiplayer section to increase interaction within the Sail Simulator community.
The most important new features of Sail Simulator 4.0 are:
• Very realistic simulation in terms of sailboat response and 3-D perspectives.
• Multiplayer via Internet
• Simulation engine integrated with DirectX Force-Feedback control

o Gusts now visible on the water surface
o Reverse of direction of vertical load positioning
o Select a previous or default situation before starting the simulation
o Adjustable starting time for regattas
o Spinnaker of remote boats now correctly plotted
o Auto Spinnaker mode has been improved
o Hailing of rudders and center boards now possible (for Tornado Catamaran)
o Improved collision of large boats with buoys
o Aerodynamic slot between jib and mainsail modeled
o New Stars & Stripes style for the America´s Cup racer
o Autopilot in compass mode corrected for magnetic variation
o Windows 95 compatibility problem solved
o New sailing areas (also available as downloads):
- St Martin (Antilles, sponsored by Alex for the yearly Heineken regatta)
- Lake of Constance (Bodensee in South Germany)
o For the Scenery Designer Toolkit: DEM- Builder interpolation has been speeded up with a factor 2, and uses 3 times less RAM. This will make scenery designers happy.

• Open sea Sailing Course for beginners with Valk (6m keelboat) and special area.
• Instruments: Compass, Log, GPS, Echo, Meteo, Auto Sail. Auto Main and Auto Pilot (select: GPS, Waypoints, Compass or Windvane)
• Electronic Chart for drawing routes, ship- and camera position, Engine controller, Wind visualisation
