New Simrad EPIRB
Technical details
Producer: Simrad (NO)

Simrad Yachting has launched a new range of Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs) that come with a choice of either manual or automatic release. The new EP50 and EG50 EPIRBs activate automatically on contact with water, emitting a 406MHz Distress Alert with 121.5MHz Homing Beacon for fast indication to rescue authorities. A two-part bulkhead bracket ensures that it does not accidentally trigger. A high-power strobe light enables immediate recognition by rescue services at night, and the Simrad EG50 is also fitted with a 16 channel GPS for increased position accuracy of the alert.
