Zytiron Hydrofoil – Speed of 100 knots!

The new 50 Foot Zytiron High performanace luxury express cruisier from Hydrofoils Incorporated. The safest, fastest, and most advanced motor yacht on the water, BAR NONE. The 50-foot, (15.2-meter) 5-passenger, 100 kt., twin, marine turbine powered, lightweight, boats are American Bureau of Yacht certified, vessels and it can be quickly reconfigured as a defense, commuter, freight, or ambulance vehicle at various capacities.
Draft is less than 1.5 ft fully loaded, running and less than 1.5 ft fully loaded, static (foils folded). The boat is operational in this folded mode and foils are normally retracted while approaching the dock or shore. Depth as indicated on the chart will pose no problems for these “Shallow Water” boats.
The design is based upon existing and very successful hydrofoil technology, but the boat is in design stage and has not yet been put into production. The 50T will take 8 months to produce and will need two months for sea trials. A finished, running 50-foot boat is approximately 1.3 million with an estimated delivery of 8 months ARO (After Receipt Of Order).
Larger versions are available for commercial purposes up to 150 feet (46 meters), with capacity up to 100 passengers at 100 knots. Because of their high speed and shallow water ability these craft would be ideal for use with private island retreats and resorts.

Why hydrofoil?
The Unlimited class boats just couldn’t control the increased speeds produced by the more powerful engines being developed. In one of these terrible accidents, an unlimited class hydroplane ran up onto the shore at Red Bank and killed several spectators because it could not negotiate the turn, and ran out of water. Blow-overs and kiting were and still are, a common, accepted occurrence in high-speed boat racing, injuring and killing many drivers every year. Astonishingly, this technology hasn’t markedly improved over the years and the videos and movies of high-speed accidents are the same in 2004 as they were in the 1930s. This racing industry in all classes, from Unlimited to Offshore, Drag Boats, to Outboard Hydros is widely known as the most dangerous of all sports and continues to accept these tragedies as normal.
