X-Yachts X-43 Performance

More than twenty years ago, type of sailing boats-cruisers, popularly called cruiser-racer, boats that enable safe and moderately comfortable cruising in company of family and friends, but also winning a regatta, had begun to vanish. Boats were increasingly becoming either cruisers or racers. Danish shipyard X-Yachts has been founded In 1979, precisely at the time when it became obvious these two types of sailing keep separating. Since the very beginning, it manufactures boats that can be referred to as cruiser-racer, or, more accurately, racer-cruiser. These boats successfully unite speed, safety, comfort and easy manageability during sailing, regardless of how demanding sailing might be. The first boat was an answer to Y-24 and Albin Express that were growing increasingly popular in the open class of eight metres. In 1983, X-79 class was the most massive One Design class in Europe. With over 350 boats and equally successful X-102, shipyard´s entrance to the world market was wide open. Besides performing manufacturing activity, X-Yachts is one of the really rare shipyards that designs boats independently. All knowledge is within the house, more precisely in the heads of founders. Niels Jepsen, at one time one of the best racing yachtsmen, manages the department of design and developing new models. His brother Lars, also renowned yachtsmen, is responsible for designing sail plan, deck organisation and control of quality. Birger Hansen, specialist for laminates and fibreglass, is in charge of manufacturing and finances.
Besides well earned title ´boat of the year 2003´, X-43 boasts emphasized racing image and desirable comfort adequate for family cruises. Contemporary and harmonious hull of accentuated dynamics indicates that, with this model, X-Yachts intent to keep the first place in the class of 43-foot sailing boats for years. Overtaking some structural details from X fleet´s flagship, serially wealthy equipped X-43 should provide crew with maximum expediency and comfort in all sea conditions.
