Jeanneau Sun 2500 / Keelboat

Jeanneau unveils today the new Sun 2500, a fast and beachable sailboat designed by Olivier Petit, that will be presented for the first time at the 2004 fall boat shows. The Sun 2500, like the Sun 2000, is a quick, fun, and stable sailboat (ballasted centerboard). Inspired by the mini transat boats, the Sun 2500 has a generous sail area on its 7/8th rig. It´s important to say that her architect, Olivier Petit, has sailed with Eric Tabarly (Pen Duick) and Philippe Poupon (Fleury Michon). Navigator, 1987 Atlantic crossing record-setter, and naval architect, he has designed many racing and cruising sailboats from 20’ (Sun 2000) to 90’. Fast and seaworthy, with twin rudders and its wide beam (2,90m), the Sun 2500 is remarkably stable. Its layout has large living spaces with a roomy salon, 4 berths, and an independant washroom. Also, it is equipped with an inboard 9 Hp engine, so the Sun 2500 is the perfect boat for family outings.

Building on the success of the lifting keel Sun 2500 launched in 2004, Jeanneau unveiled a fixed keel version. This fully-equipped sports cruiser is the most adaptable in its category. Its twin rudders and broad (2.90 m) beam gives the Sun 2500 Keelboat impressive performance and great seakeeping qualities, combined with remarkable stability. The equipment list for this small yacht is certainly impressive! The layout belowdecks creates a generous amount of room, with a spacious saloon, separate head compartment, large stowage lockers, practical galley and 2 double berths. Available in inboard and outboard versions, the Sun 2500 Keelboat comes with a broad range of performance and comfort options to meet every owner requirement. The Sun 2500 Keelboat is the ideal yacht for family coastal cruising!
