Edel 33

The new 10m catamaran for fast raid type cruises. The Edel 33’ is a 9,96 m catamaran giving priority to simplicity and performance, when sailing as much as when motor driving, when however all the necessary comfort for coastal cruisers.

The objective was to propose in the line of first born, the 4xCAT 28’ (Edel 28’) which has a programme limited to coasts, a multithull more comfortable to go further away, longer. The Edel 33’ is then able to welcome 5 to 6 crew, to get quickly from one point to another, whatever the weather is. The particular concept of this boat with its three independent modules offers an original and innovative accommodation:

• A spacious saloon with open panoramic view which will welcome 5 to 6 guests around a central table (1.20mx0.96m) with furniture/counter top integrating storage for crockery, bottles, groceries & others
• A galley block placed aft between doors, benefiting in this way from the best headroom (1m80), equipped with the minimum necessary: double burner, a Ø260mm sink, a 49L fridge below the sink, running and sea water through foot pumps, well ventilated by a portlight faced to cockpit + 1 hatch on the roof
• A chart table corner on starboard, accessible once the back seat is lowered, for navigation instruments, switch panel, marine charts storage, etc.
• Various shelves/cupboards below saloon bench seats
• 2 spacious double berths (1,50mx1,90m) under the “wings” of the nacelle, an impossible thing in hulls if we want to keep slender hulls for swiftness. The headroom above mattresses is generous with 90cm, and storage compartments are various at the feet and on the sides

Generous Sail Plan, Aluminium Rotating Mast, Direct Steering with seat on each hulls: everything is done to insure good averages and pleasure under sail. When mooring, the crew will appreciated the large forward and the easy access to the sea towards the sterns.

Two InBoards sail-drives of 11hp have been fitted under the module to keep the weights well centred. The sail-drive is comming just at the back of the fins. A V-drive version is possible with the fin replacing the A Brackets. For a perfect autonomy, each motor has its own fuel tank, under the module.
