Catana 42

Catana 42 Ocean Class is the smallest catamaran in Catana\'s offer, which is delivered with either three or four cabins, therefore in either owners\' or family/charter version. Interior plan concept is almost the same, except for the huge toilet added beside the owner cabin, which maximises owner\'s privacy.

Broad galley is placed in the middle of the boat, which provides chefs with an easy cooking without excluding them from the happenings taking place in the saloon. Protected cockpit with hard top where are placed the solar panels, well-dimensioned steering wheels covered with leather and intelligibly arranged winches where the main is electric one, will provide attractive and safe sailing even for less experienced crew.

Her creators dedicated special attention not only to developing her sailing abilities but also to the construction for more stability and safety. The elongated, torpedo-shaped hulls lessen the "rocking chair" effect in heavy seas. When lifting the daggerboards, there is no drag when reaching or running and cruising speed is much higher during long passages downwind. The bulb section under the waterline is tuliped towards the deck, which greatly improves performance in heavy weather. The hulls have crash box fore and aft with waterproof casing, so in the event of a collision, Catana is truly unsinkable (even when totally filled with water, no water can enter the living quarters).
