Riva 500 is an unusual combination of traditional vessel with the looks of maritime vessel and powerboat hull structure. Thus, it is possible to assembly to it an outboard engine with up to 40 HP strength so it can gain speed even over 25 knots. Such fast sailing demands very resistant hull construction so that the boat hull of Riva 500 is made of two fibreglass shells. Outer recognizable by its form, and inner, equal to outer by size, which contains all elements if interior design. Shells are glued between themselves on every available surface and on places where seats and beds are, between shells is a void, well protected from breach of water. This way, a construction with double shell is made, with significantly better firmness and callosity than each shell individually, and much lighter than strengthened single shell of same firmness would be.

Despite its powerboat-like top speed, this boat will sail well even with small outboard engines up to 5 HP, with which it could gain speed up to 5 to 6 knots. Boat doesn’t need to be equipped with engines between 6 and 20 HP because their strength will in most cases be insufficient for full powerboat speed and too big for genuine sailing.

Riva 500 is equipped with nicely decorated and light cabin with up to two to three beds in which two yachtsmen will feel comfortable. Cockpit is self-dischargeable so that the boat can be left for a longer period on anchor or a berth, not worrying who will discharge it. Empty spaces under seats of cockpit are equipped with lids and serve as storages, always well appreciated space while on a boat.

Steering is made with steering wheel and handle from steering place in cockpit. Link with the engine is made with steel cables placed in tubes. Because of big top speed we suggest you equip with steering place with a seat. Basic purpose of Riva 500 is cruising the coastal sea and fishing. This boat is especially suitable for renting within daily charter. (by Matroby-Yachts)
