Storebro 435 Commander

Storebro 435 Commander is the latest addition to the Commander model range. She has plenty in common with her sister ships in the Commander range. Same spacious layout, but she also features additional space on the afterdeck. Furthermore, the bathing platform provide a large area for sunbathing and swimming, while there is also plenty of room for stowing a dinghy.
The unique guest cabin makes excellent use of the full width of the boat and offers three separate full-length bunks. A back cushion acts as an infill cushion between two of the bunks, allowing conversion to a 1.75 m wide double bed and a single bunk. If there are only two guests on board, the cabin becomes a ‘mini suite’ with two bunks, a comfortable settee and direct access to an en-suite WC. This boat has space for a visiting young family with children, or extra berths in case the children or grandchildren want to bring their friends along on a sailing holiday.
The whole interior is both light and airy, as a result of the pale fabrics that have been used. Plenty of light is let into the cabins thanks to a large number of opening hull portholes, which also ensure effective ventilation on hot summer days. A lot of work has gone into finding lighting solutions using effective energy-efficient LED lighting and concealed lighting units that produce a pleasantly lit space.
The Commander model range, which includes models from both Nimbus and Storebro, is a modern take on the ‘Pilot house’ design. A wheelhouse that is integrated into the forward section of the deck saloon offers numerous advantages over more conventional designs:
- Doors on both sides of the wheelhouse make it quick and easy to reach both the side decks and the foredeck, which makes mooring and landing easier.
- The wheelhouse has four forward-facing seats, excellent visibility and a solid chart table.
- Saloon and wheelhouse in one and the same unit for a greater feeling of airiness and space in the saloon.
- Internal steps from the saloon to the flying bridge for safe and comfortable passage both in harbour and at sea. This also provides a convenient shortcut from the flying bridge to the side decks and foredeck when moored. There is also a steps from the afterdeck to the flying bridge.
- The longer superstructure for the saloon+wheelhouse creates room for a larger and more spacious flying bridge.
- On hot days, the two side doors and the hatch for the internal stairs to the flying bridge provide excellent ventilation for the saloon and wheelhouse.
