Gozzo 26

Hailing from Italy, the Gozzo 26 is an 8.50 m long sloop. Equipped with a long keel in the style of the Dutch ‘sloepen’ for accurate course-keeping, it is exceptionally roomy in the open area and also features a small cabin with washbasin, toilet and two permanent beds. The Gozzo 26 is built with heavy duty fiberglass. With the "hand lay-up "method the fiberglass is reinforced with glassfiber matting, layer after layer (GPR), after the gelcoat has hardened, until the desires thickness of 12 to 15 mm has been reached. This garantees an optimal structural strength and high impact resistance.
The Gozzo 26 is very stable and with its underwatership with integrated trim, and semiglides easily at high speeds (semi-displacement hull). At low speeds the handling and steering characteristics of the Gozzo 26 are excellent, mostly due to the full length keel. The engine options are all VW Marine diesels, with the range extending from 44 to 165 kW (60 to 225 HP) for top speeds of between 10 to 28 knots (cruising 8 to 26 kn).
