Glastron GS 289

The introduction of the new sport cruiser is a big step up for a boatyard whose reputation has previously been made for the trailerable boats. With subtle appearance, spacious and hospitable, GS 289, as a bigest model of the whole cabin models offer, has enough space for 4-6 persons on days-long cruisings. Below decks, a pleasant cabin layout provides maxim space in the areas to be most useful. A stair tread design makes access easy while still allowing for a wide entry into the mid-cabin. This allows the mid-cabin to double duty as a cozy play area for kids, or a get-away for reading or conversation since it is accessible to the main cabin. The standard and most popular floorplan has a wraparound seating with a removable table. The seating area converts easily to a berth with standard fill-in cushions which add to the available sleeping space. The seating area is raised providing for storage lockers below. The galley incorporates significant counter space while providing upper and below-counter locking storage, a microwave oven, 12/110V refrigerator, coffee maker, electric stove and water heater. For the absolute crew comfort equipment of this cruiser include AM/FM/CD stereo with 4 speakers and MP3 remote jack at dash, color-coordinated Bimini top & boot, hydraulic trim tabs, transom shower and in the head an electric china toilet bowl. Outside, a molded swim platform at the stern is a standard, which includes a concealed deep-reach angled swim ladder mounted to starboard for improved safety.
On board, the aft cockpit offers a roomy seating area that features two beanch seating, which with the standard fill-in cushion converts in to a spacious sunbathing area. To port, an integrated entertainment center with sink, fridge and preparation surface enhances entertaining amenities. Just forward of this console is a versatile port lounge. The helm seat is high/low adjustable to accommodate various sized drivers and includes a flip-up bolster convenient. Equipment and instruments assembled on the helm console enables the direct access to all cruisers functions, informations and assistance systems. Engine choices for the GS 289 feature three Volvo-Penta or three MerCruiser options available with stern drives, with power ranges from 300 to 375 per engine. An exciting performer, standard 300 hp gasoline engine will cruise at 22-23 knots and reach a top speed over 36 knots. By cruising speed the autonomy is 150 nautical miles and consumption is 43 litre per hour, while by top speed it´s almost double, 82 ltr/h. Glastron GS 289 is on plane in 7 seconds and can be passing through 26 nm per hour in about 12 seconds.
