Elling E3

Company Elling has been founded in 1993, as a youngest part of Neptunus group. Initial idea was to create very practical and elegant semi-displacement boat. During development of the model Elling 3, a lot attention has been paid to carrying out tests, while putting boat in situations that could hardly happen to future owners. Hull has been tested in the University of Southampton where performances improved for 12% in comparison to the primary model. Interior design was entrusted to prestigious English Ken Freivokha´s design studio, designers that worked for many world-renowned shipyards (Sunseeker, Mission, Fairline, Swan, Westerly etc.). Prototype had been completed in 1997 and presented on Düsseldorf nautical fair year later. Currently, they manufacture 25 units per year with an intention to double the production soon. Because of an enormous interest, Elling became company with the most rapid rise in European nautical industry.
Elling´s E3 model is produced in few different standard versions: Regular, Comfort, Challenger and Excutive. Whole programme is supplemented with model Ultimate anticipated for open seas. Top-notch model Elice is currently being prepared. Regular, Comfort and Challenger do not have generator, while only Comfort has optional package of electronic equipment. Challenger has electric sliding roof, while Executive and Ultimate are regularly equipped with generator. Principles of first four models can be shortly described as follows. Comfort is a version with lots of separate equipment, while the Challenger is a variance of Comfort, but with even more equipment. In this way, Comfort is outfitted with double tinted saloon windows, quality accu-batteries, battery charger, transformer, refrigerator and a bow thruster. There is also long list of additional equipment that enable fitting out according to individual needs, since E3 is not intended exclusively for use during summer months. Every model has central heating system, four optional air-conditioners and four speed options from 8-9 to 20-23 knots. It is possible to purchase different versions of engine room insulation and fuel and water tanks´ capacity. Available are special models for surfers, family or office equipment packages as well as fishing tackle. Briefly, whatever customer may wish could be installed in this boat - regardless of whether this is desalinisator or particular type of mattress. Safety is basis of every boat and this term does not mean only navigation quality, but also includes stability, solidity, visibility, protection against fire and possibility of rescue. Regarding these factors, E3 has high level of safety, primarily owned to the hull structure that will incline only 9,5° when hit by the stormy side-wind. Second important aspect is behaviour on the waves. Namely, sharp side-waves or diagonal ones may cause extremely unpleasant movements. In Elling, this revolving motion is prevented by the hull shape, keel and auxiliary trim tabs. Way of solving the stability issue gives E3 qualities of the rescue boat that sets the new standards for motor yachts´ stability. One more feature is an E3´s peculiarity - used material. Hull is made of Twaron that is exceptionally resistible to strokes. Carbon fibres are stiffer than Twaron, but their lower degree of impact-resistance makes the fabric much less suitable for processing, in the terms of safety. Besides being lightweight, resistible and very solid, Twaron has yet another terrific quality, vibration-isolating effect that decreases noise to bare minimum. In addition, thanks to its low weight, fuel consumption is considerably decreased, more than 50% compared to the vessels of same category and speed. Since nothing is ordinary in E3, she is delivered with only one engine. Designers explain that two engines mean less safety. Namely, if one engine stopped working because of the fuel pollution, this could easily happen to the other one also, since they both use same fuel tank. Same thing happens if one propeller gets stuck in some net or rope. Solution is additional engine with a sail-drive and separate fuel tank with an option of switching over to the main tank. Its propeller is placed on a considerable distance from the main engine propeller. Owing to efficient hull shape, E3 is capable to develop speed of around 7 knots with an auxiliary engine. Interior is constructed in numerous combinations, but standard plan consists of closed helm station with saloon. Below-deck comprises galley, two double cabins, head, saloon and an empty space owner can use according to own wishes. Most frequently, additional cabin with double bunks is situated there, but it can also serve as an office or something else. E3´s ambience is cheerful, colourful and bright. All four interior options are exclusive and neither one of them has slightest nuance of "standard".
