Alaska 53

The countdown started with the first minutes in the New 2008! This is the year in which we have decided to present Alaska 53 to the European, particularly Croatian and Slovenian nautical public. The boat which, unlike many others, is not a more or less fortunate compromise of often contradictory whishes and possibilities, but a synthesis of all necessary for those who truly know what the sea is. The synthesis in which the maritime features of a north-American unsinkable fishing boat and a boat which provides luxury nonchalance of a Mediterranean yacht harmonically complete each other. The whole concept, as well as its elaboration, has been created by the team of experts sailing on course of Barke Bonom, and it was carried out in the well-known Shanghai shipyard DHS. All that in two equally valuable layouts: Sedan and Fly.

Alaska 53 Sedan and Alaska 53 Fly already exist as variations for Australian and American markets, but together with the team from the architectural studios Arhanarh from Zagreb and Sea spirit from Ljubljana, we have committed ourselves to adjust the fifty-three to high demands of a significantly different sea and our Mediterranean sea. It was a job which we enjoyed, just as we hope that you will when you join us on one of our promotional cruises on the Adriatic at midyear. We are convinced that you will immediately feel our philosophy of sailing. According to it, cruising is not a mere sailing from a point A to a point B, but a comprehensive experience of the sea. Our task, the task being output of the model of a boat which from stem to stern provides every possibility for all sorts of playful Mediterranean lifestyle (which does not cede at sea either), was feasible because the primary concept of Alaska as a semideplacement boat meets all the requirements of safe and stable navigation. To such a powerful hull as a base, built for rough northern seas, we have added a variation that in its standard equipment already includes what supersedes the existing criteria on the market in this particular category – such as electrical anchor windlass HWC Maxwell 3 500, two stern windlasses Muir 2 500, Onan generator of 17,5 kW, Marine Air 75 000 BTU reverse cycle air conditioner, Raymarine nautical equipment series E/G, bow and stern thrusters of 125 kf, Benett flaps…
The space intended for a captain is functional and comfortable at the same time, and even a stricter skipper-oriented version offers a possibility to share the experience of steering the Alaska with another person, since the bench next to the helm enables two persons to be seated. Modern design of the control panel is just the first in a row of “Adriatic adaptations” by the experts from Barke Bonom. Next in a row are modifications related to the use of space, where we have paid particular attention to the contiguity of the saloon and the stern as the heart of the boat on which social life – in a day and night version – is going to take place. We have elaborated two possibilities; foldable door can divide the spacious cockpit or make it an integral space. The door is now even bigger in dimensions and made completely in teak.
Alaska boats are very easy to maneuver in all situations. Their maneuverability is additionally enabled by the bow and stern thrusters. The standard option includes heavy-duty engines (2xCummins 540 HP QSC 8.3 or Caterpillar 567 C9 ACERT) and underwater exhausts, which are of particular importance because the engines produce no noise or smoke that can be felt on board.
Since the most of the cockpit (15 square meters) is roofed over by the hardtop, it can be turned into an ideal place for dinner under the starry sky. Unlike the earlier models, the stern of this one offers you a bench, and a handy sink and refrigerator are just additional options for refreshment in the summer heat.
The center of the boat-life can easily be transferred into the saloon, in which a luxurious settee completed with chests and a LCD TV provide comfort and coziness. Large saloon windows and doors allow natural light to practically flood the boat, filling the boat with the mild Mediterranean light even in winter. It is necessary to point out that the nonchalant communication, besides the central line cockpit – saloon, is maintained sideways as well, with two doors on port and starboard side of the boat, and vast lateral deck passageways. As far as the external features of commodity are concerned, Alaskas 53 are equipped with a large spot for sun lounging, a big stern platform and lateral openings which enable lateral descent.
The feeling of comfort in the interior is made stronger due to the standing height of 225 cm in the cockpit, and 205 – 210 cm throughout the whole boat, where the retro-atmosphere is achieved with teak, just like on the deck and the stern. Our experts have devoted special attention to the kitchen – the sacred place of the southern hedonism - by elaborating its layout in two versions. In the first one, the spacious kitchen is situated opposite the settee in the saloon, while in the other one it is separated in the front part of the saloon – as the space reserved for cogot’s little secrets. In both versions, the kitchen is equipped with superb appliances and the Corian bench tops. Below deck in the Alaska 53, there are three teak-paneled cabins: one master stateroom cabin and two guest cabins, accompanying bathrooms with separate shower stalls. Additional luxury can be obtained in a layout with two cabins and two bathrooms. The entire interior below deck is enriched with new details and, in our opinion, indispensable elements. Consequently, the master stateroom cabin is completed with a “beauty corner” and the corridor between the cabins with an additional wardrobe. A new material of light tones has been used in order to add charm below deck.
Alaska 53 Fly has all the above mentioned characteristics of the Sedan concept, with the addition of the flybridge, which is particularly intended for longer cruises. On the flybridge there are additional controls and instruments, but also an additional cupboard for preparation and serving the food and drinks.
Motor yacht Alaska 53 is a boat for all who love and know the sea, and therefore want safe sailing and a unique concept of the boat accordingly, and all that in a luxurious and spacious environment with the recognizable and elegant looks.
