Yanmar – 4-cylinder diesel at 75HP
Technical details
Producer: Yanmar (JP)

The new lightweight 75HP (55kW) 4JH4-TE diesel engine from Yanmar Marine has a series of new features compared with the previous 75HP model. This is a turbocharged, two-litre engine with a newly designed four-valve cylinder head and fuel rating which produce the same performance at lower engine speeds. It meets the EPA Tier 2 and European RCD emissions regulations, to be introduced in 2006. The 4JH4-TE has a new-style fuel injection system with auto-adjust timing for improved cold starts. The fuel system incorporates an electric stop solenoid. There is a new, larger-capacity heat exchanger. Fresh water is used for the maintenance-free oil cooler. A new belt cover is provided for increased safety. There is a choice of compact control panels for the helm and an 80 amp alternator is offered as standard. The new engine can be packaged with marine gears from Yanmar by Kanzaki or ZF and there is the further option of fitting a Yanmar SD-50T double-seal saildrive.
