Nanni Diesel - The hybrid propulsion system
Technical details
Producer: Nanni Diesel (FR)

Nanni’s hybrid system, which is available from September 2009 combined with a diesel engine of up to 200 hp, has been tested since 2007 in order to ensure that it can be easily and securely fitted, either initially or as a later option. Nanni has taken great care to ensure that it is easy to use… one turn of the key from the “cockpit” is all it takes, with the same engine control making it possible to control the boat, in both electrical and thermal mode.

The principle is based on a generator - Power Unit - inserted between the engine block and the reverser or sail drive. Developed by Nanni, it enables the batteries to be charged up again when the thermal engine is running, then powers the electrical propulsion when the thermal unit stops. An electronic management unit, a genuine brain for the hybrid system, independently controls and transforms the energy, using it to either charge the batteries up again or power the electrical engine. Real-time information is provided on electrical mode consumption and remaining power thanks to an integrated indicator on the dashboard. (www.nannidiesel.com)
