Danforth Worldwide Equilibrium
Technical details
Producer: Danforth, TIE DOWN ENGINEERING (USA)

Danforth have developed patent pending solutions to the age old problem of ‘compass card dip’, the bugbear of many boatbuilders and ocean navigators worldwide. The new Danforth GLOBALBalance technology is based on the magnet inside the compass being mounted in a float chamber that can tilt independently of the reading card, which remains level. The system works for front, dual and flat reading cards and has been incorporated into most of Danforth’s compass range. Now, wherever you are in the world, whether building boats or sailing oceans, the need for special adjustments has been completely eliminated. GLOBALBalance, retains Danforth’s existing NO - SPIN damping system, which ensures rock steady performance whatever the sea conditions.
In a separate development, Danforth have also re-styled their Skipper 67mm (2-5/8”) and Corsair 95mm (3-3/4”) compasses to co-ordinate with the sleek modern styling of the Quest range.
