Windy 40 Maestro

The Windy 40 Maestro is a two-cabin, high performance, Pan-European cruiser with a huge, sociable cockpit and a practical but sleek all-weather hardtop. Combining the rakish good looks of Windy’s award-winning sports boats, with the comfort, flexibility and sea-keeping credentials of the Windy 44 Chinook and 48 Triton, the Windy 40 will appeal to the experienced cruising yachtsman who doesn’t want to go too big, says Windy CEO Knut Heiberg- Andersen. “He’s got a family and wants to get out and have some sociable times on the water with them.”

Great emphasis has been placed on the size and flexibility of the cockpit, which is optimised for relaxing and entertaining, while still providing secure seating for family and guests while under way. The hardtop offers protection from the sun or the rain without any of the hassles of a canopy – and there’s a sliding sunroof for blue-sky boating.

Down below, there’s a compact, private saloon amidships with a sofa, table and a spacious galley opposite. Guests are accommodated in the double-berth mid cabin, while the owner’s cabin, with semi-ensuite access to the heads and shower compartment, occupies the bows.

The standard interior finish is in sustainable, matt-lacquered light oak, with a wide range of upholstery choices. The hull colour – standard in white or champagne – is also a custom option, with a variety available to choose from. Like other new-generation Windy models, the new boat will be constructed using weight-saving, environmentally sensitive, vacuum-injection moulding technology.

Designed by Windy to perform with both Volvo’s forwardfacing IPS drive system and conventional sterndrives, the Windy 40 Maestro is offered with three different power options (2x370hp Volvo Penta D6 DP; 2x300hp Volvo Penta D4 DP; 2x300hp Volvo Penta IPS400), providing speeds of up to 44 knots.
