North Sails and Southern Spars delivered the first of a kind collaboration out of its manufacturing base in Sri Lanka. The 6.6m CARBON FURLING BOOM with manual drive was delivered to the client, Windcraft Australia, with the sail rolled around the mandrel – ready to install on the mast and hoist the sail.
It shows the unique ability for the North Group to deliver a complete solution through collaborative design, manufacturing and logistics. It also embodies Southern Spars’ concept of “Push Play” which aims to deliver turn-key performance products out of the box.
Southern Spars has increased its production capacity in Sri Lanka and is looking to deliver similar solutions (for booms from 5-12m) into Europe and the US in 2016.
