Croatian Boat of the Year / 2 - Regulations

Competition "Croatian Boat of the Year" is organised by the web page "nauCAT", founded by ERA-1938 Ltd. (www.naucat.com).

This initiative is intended to stimulate nautical activity in one of the most attractive nautical destinations, as well as establishment and development of sound business relations with boat manufacturers, their distributors/dealers, all aiming at as contented as possible boat buyer/boater.

Competition "Croatian Boat of the Year" is divided into three categories. To each category can apply exclusively boats available on Croatian market. As new boats, considered are completely new models or models that have undergone essential changes.

To Category I. - "Motor Boats" - can apply new boats intended for sport and leisure with (outboard or inboard) engine power and minimum overall length of 20 feet (6,09 metres). Motor boats are divided in groups depending on their length. In each group, awarded will be one motor boat. Minimum of 3 (three) boats must be nominated for each group.

To Category II. - "Sailing Boats" - can apply new boats under sails intended for sport and leisure with minimum overall length of 20 feet (6,09 metres). Sailing boats are divided in groups depending on their length. In each group, awarded will be one sailing boat. Minimum of 3 (three) boats must be nominated for each group.

To Category III. - "CRO Boats" - can apply new boats intended for sport and leisure, manufactured exclusively in Croatia, which minimum overall length is 18 feet (5,48 metres), powered by either engine (outboard or inboard) or sails. In this category, selected will be either one motor boat or a sailing boat. Minimum of 3 (three) boats must be nominated. In the case of fewer boats nominated, vessels of at least 20 feet will be transferred into adequate first two categories/groups.

Anyone has the right to suggest boats for the nomination, while the nauCAT's editorial board reserves right creating nominate lists as well as nominate vessels which will enter the selection "Boat of the year". There, every shipbuilder can have maximally two boats which sells on the Croatian market for the particular category.

Voting right have all manufacturers of boats sold on Croatian market. Voting right is granted also to those boat manufacturers whose boats are not nominated in this year's Competition, and their votes are equal to those of the manufacturers with nominated boats. Voting right have exclusively boat manufacturers and no one else can vote on their behalf.

Voting is obligatory for the manufacturers who have nominated boats. By their voting in this Competition manufacturers verify nominations of their boats. Manufacturers who fail to vote until date stated at the ballot-paper, will lose all votes given to their boats.

Every voter/manufacturer will be given list of selected boats (their characteristics can be found on www.naucat.com). Voting consists of giving (only one) boat in each group 1 point. Voter who has nominated boat is not allowed to vote for Group where is his boat, since this vote would be pronounced invalid (others correctly filled votes will be acknowledged). Voters do not have to vote in all categories or groups, but solely in those with which they are familiar.

nauCAT's editorial board, Competition sponsors and anyone else who isn't the shipbuilder do not have voting right. Accepted will be only those votes that arrive to 20 September 2019. Winner for each category is the boat that has been given the biggest number of points. If, after adding votes, two or more boats have the same number of points, voting will be repeated only for the boats in question.

In the case that someone of above mentioned do not use their voting right, their votes can not be transferred to another voter.

Manufacturers/distributors of the boats awarded title "Croatian Boat of the Year" in any category, can display this title and sign "Croatian Boat of the Year" in their advertisements and media presentations in context that is not in any way harmful to nauCAT, media sponsor, general sponsor, sponsors and the Competition itself.
