Yamaha – Two new Outboard Engines
Technical details
Producer: YAMAHA (JP)

Yamaha Marine Group announced the arrival of two new 9.9 horsepower, four-stroke models, the F9.9F and the T9.9G. Compact and lightweight, both models offer outstanding performance along with traditional Yamaha reliability.
“These outboards are among the smallest and lightest 9.9 horsepower four-stroke outboards on the market today,” said Phil Dyskow, Yamaha Marine Group president. “They’re nearly identical in size to the Yamaha two-stroke 9.9, of course with all the benefits of a four-stroke. In short, they’re a winning combination of power, performance and portability.”
Using the SOHC, in-line two-cylinder design, both models feature an enhanced 212cc aluminum block – 15 c.c.s larger than the F8. The engines also feature a new aluminum propeller for smooth, reliable power and torque. The T9.9G is the high-thrust version of this new Yamaha model. It uses a higher gear ratio and Yamaha’s optional Dual Thrust™ prop to deliver outstanding thrust needed to help control heavier boats. Both the F9.9F and the T9.9G engines are convenient and easy to use, with controls that are forward-mounted for easy operation, integral carrying handles, and available power tilt. In addition, these two engines are among the most fuel-efficient in their class. They are also three-star rated for ultra-low emissions by the California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.). Yamaha plans to begin deliveries to boat builder and dealer partners by summer 2007.
