Navico updates Navionics
Technical details
Producer: Navico (NL)

Navico, a leading provider of marine electronics under the Lowrance, Simrad and B&G brands, and Navionics have collaborated to make several new features available to customers using Navionics charts. The latest software update for a wide range of new and existing models adds compatibility with Navionics Dock-to-dock Autorouting and SonarChart™ Live. Advanced Map Options becomes an integral part of the new set of features.

Dock-to-dock Autorouting (not in USA)
A breakthrough in boating navigation, Navionics Dock-to-dock Autorouting creates intelligent, detailed routes, even through narrow passages and channels where they’re needed most. Navionics’ sophisticated algorithms take into consideration chart data, navigation aids, and water depths from both Nautical Chart and the most recent SonarChart™ to display the suggested route.

SonarChart Live
SonarChart Live allows boaters to create personal 1 ft/0.5 m HD bathymetry maps in real time on the display of their Lowrance, Simrad and B&G chartplotter models. With SonarChart Live, boaters can engage their sonar to create new and increasingly detailed charts everywhere they go, raising awareness of shallow waters and frequently revealing previously uncharted bottom features, such as holes and drop-offs, that anglers seek out when targeting fish.

Advanced Map Options
Engineered with anglers in mind, Advanced Map Options gives plotter users the ability to customize their view of Navionics charts. Presentation can be modified to select a fishing range, highlight shallow areas, and now SonarChart contour density can be adjusted, thereby making it quicker and easier to identify ideal fishing spots and repeat patterns.

Plotter Sync
Integration with the the Plotter Sync capability of Navionics Boating apps is also part of this package and currently in a final testing phase for release in 2017. It will enabl, users to easily download updated charts and transfer routes and markers without having to remove their Navionics card.

Availability
the new features require a Navionics card that has an active chart updates subscription. A progressive release of the software which enables the advanced features is underway for the following models: Lowrance HDS Carbon, HDS Gen3 and Elite Ti; Simrad GO, GO xse, NSS evo3 and NSS evo2; and B&G Zeus3, Zeus2 and Vulcan models. Lowrance Elite Ti will be compatible with all but Dock-to-dock Autorouting. At this time, Dock-to-dock Autorouting is supported all through Navionics global catalog, except USA. Plotter Sync is possible only on models with built-in Wi-Fi. Similar software updates will be released in the near future for Lowrance Elite Ti 9 and 12. Sofware updates can be downloaded from Lowrance, Simrad and B&G websites. Additional compatibility requirements can be found at www.navico.com and www.navionics.com/navico .
