Solar M series
Technical details
Producer: Centrosolar AG (DE)

Centrosolar AG updates its maritime module series, just in time for the boot trade fair. The solar module manufacturer presented three new modules from its Solara M series. The new modules are much more powerful and nicely complement its existing range of offers. Centrosolar developed the M series especially for maritime use. The modules provide an on-board power feed and supply electrical consumers with clean electricity.

Centrosolar has extended the series to cope with increasing demand for larger and more powerful solar modules. The new modules contain 40 instead of the current 36 cells. Centrosolar has also used larger cells which, according to the company, are enjoying increasingly greater acceptance on the market. Both innovations contribute to the increased performance. “Since we manufacture our solar modules, we can react quickly to the requirements of the market. In the leisure industry there is a clear trend towards lots of power and limited space, coupled with the highest possible daily yields,” reports Frank Heise, Head of the off-grid solar systems department.

The strongest module in the M series, the SM280M, has an output of 70 Wp which should produce a daily yield of around 280 Wh/d. The module is 982 mm long and 560 mm wide and therefore ideal for use on boats and yachts. The module consists of a high-grade steel laminate which is easy to bend yet can still be walked on. Compared to traditional modules, the M series is more robust and resistant to dirt and algae.
