Current sensor for battery monitoring
Technical details
Producer: Autonnic (UK)

Autonnic´s highly sensitive, zero insertion loss, current monitor for marine battery management gives an analogue voltage output with milliamp current sensitivity in the 50-0-50A charge discharge cycle. The conventional approach to battery current monitoring is to use a shunt, which inevitably consumes power and generates heat. Overheated shunts present a significant fire risk.

By using fluxgate technology to measure the magnetic field associated with the current, no electrical connection is required, no power is absorbed, heat dissipation is eliminated; stability and absence of drift over time are added benefits. A component includes a fluxgate and control electronics and is designed for integration by marine equipment manufacturers. (www.autonnic.com)
