X-Yachts X-55 Performance

This new sailing boat with "eternal" lines is ideal combination of classic elegance, spaciousness and navigational performances, which is not surprising since she has been built on experience from designing the IMX 70 to develop the new X-55 with many exclusive features which are new to a performance cruiser in this market segment. Basic characteristics are mast with three spreaders, low-profile genoa, precise and lightweight twin steering wheels (the steering system consists of a twin wheel steering installation utilising two independent quadrants in conjunction with a cross wire idler) and nicely made, spacious interior.
The foredeck design with its flush deck hatches, the cabin just stopping in front of the mast and the very clean deck layout makes the X-55 look larger then her size and is a result of very innovative solutions. The open cockpit, as featured on the X-50 and IMX 70, gives the yacht an elegant look, together with a spacious and functional area under sail - when moored in the harbour or when you are anchoring for sunbathing or taking a swim.
Below deck the X-55 is designed to emphasize the arrival of the new era in interior craftsmanship and detailing. New corner and panel design are just some of the features that will stand out when entering the yacht, and during relaxing evening dinners below deck, the luxurious style will offer both family and friends an unforgettable time on board. The X-55 will be available in two main cabin layouts with the option to vary the forepeak to suit the owner’s needs and wishes (classic layout with long sofa at starboard or classic layout with two armchairs at starboard). The forepeak can vary between three different berth layouts or a two cabin fore-peak.
As in other X yachts, hull and deck are made of solid laminate in sandwich construction with hard compressed Divinycell foam and joined with special fibreglass glue and bolts through alloy toerail on the edge of the deck. Bottom is reinforced with massive galvanised steel construction, glassed into the solid fibreglass hull part to absorb loads from the keel, mast and rig that allows high rig tension and safety in all imaginable situations.
