Maxi Dolphin 33´ One Design

MD33 was born from the intention of the shipyard to create a day cruiser/racer boat around 10 metres long. Simplicity, elegance and performance are the qualities required. A hull with straight lines for easy handling and speed, built in epoxy and glass fibre vacuum laminated to reach lightness and stiffness. With teak on deck the crew feels like on board a big yacht where all lines and manoeuvres are hidden under deck to stress the tidy arrangement and design. A simple and efficient rig in harmony with the philosophy of the rest to get the best racing with crew or in double handed cruise but, why not, in single handed. Carbon slim line mast built with pre-preg material has with two tiers of 30 degree splayed spreaders to avoid shrouds and backstay. The mast is equipped with rail, tracks for mainsail and lazy jack. The sail plan is composed by a furling genoa, a full batten mainsail with track on the mast and lazy jack and a 90 metres gennaker on the extractable bowsprit from the cockpit to surf downwind as the modern skiffs. A powerful and safe inboard engine is placed because the lack of wind is the worst enemy of a sailor.
