Comar Comet 46 EX

The idea of the EX series was born following a careful analysis of the market and the needs of smart shipowners, who are looking for a type of cruise boats of quality, different by the commercial production, in response to the highest standards of functionality, security, performance, and quality of construction.

The goal was to create a new kind of boats, a modern reinterpretation of the big cruise boats of the 80’s.
The Comet 46 EX was born to surf with comfort, safety and performance, built with quality materials and systems that can provide years of happy cruises. The attention to detail, the extreme search functionality resulting from years of sailing, and the ability to customize according to the customer’s needs, complete the design.

The study of the deck is started from a search for the features that give answers, a place for each thing.
The bow anchor can be single or double, depending on customer needs, with one or two winches, the sail locker can accommodate a gennaker, and a jib system, plus a few fender.
The cleats are 2 + 2 (optional) in the bow, 2 amidships and aft 2, of adequate size and robust.

The choice of configuration Pilot House has a number of advantages:
a) 360 ° visibility, with the ability to control the navigation from the inside, with the remote autopilot, joy stick (optional) and second throttle motor (optional).
b) Concentration of both fixed and variable weights amidships, motor, batteries, plumbing, boiler, generator and air conditioning (the last two optional), water and fuel tanks.
c) Protection of the cockpit from the elements.
d) Great brightness of the interior, with a wide view of the outside, which reduces the feeling of claustrophobia.
e) The careful study of ergonomics and size allows the helmsman a perfect view over the bow and sails.

The keel is scheduled in 2 versions, one fixed and one pivoting. The pivoting keel has several advantages:
– Draft ranging from 3.5 meters to 1.6 meters
– Increased strength in the event of a collision, for the possibility of returning bending.
– Excellent hydrodynamic efficiency, due to the strong elongation
– Very high righting moment due to the low center of gravity.
