AluYacht 480

A robust and secure but also comfortable and aesthetic cared houseboat, designed for large ocean crossings and for those who make the extreme choice of "slipping the moorings for good" and live on a boat. It’s AY480, the aluminum cutter, ideal to venture into long cruises fully safe and with no crew needed, designed by Davide Zerbinati and introduced by the italian shipyard AluYacht owned by Luca Benigni. The construction of the boat which is expected to be launched this fall is entrusted to a company of Luca Benigni, Metalmec, for twenty years a forerunner in the special aluminum construction.

«We founded AluYacht driven by a great passion: to build aluminum yachts for anyone who has decided to experience the sea.» Luca Benigni

Its 14-meter length and displacement appropriate to large ocean cruises, ensures exceptional reliability, with integrated monocoque fin and suspended rudder. The structure with double bottom watertight chambers ensures that it will not sink even in the event of serious damage to the hull. The good keel depth and draft to 2.30 meters translate into an average cruising speed of 7-8 knots.

AY480 enhances the specific properties of aluminum in the marine field: reliability, robustness and lightness. Already equipped for heavy loads and due to the low density of the material, the aluminum hull is lighter than a fibreglass hull and ensures full ability to absorb extreme impacts, without cracks and leaks stands out. The durability with minimum maintenance requirements, possibility of repairing any damage anywhere in the world ensure accessibility of costs that make AluYacht more competitive than any other solution on the market.

Easy to drive and manage, AY480 has low maintenance requirements so as to allow the owner to experience in firsthand the pleasure of sailing. The boat is also suitable for a solitary sailor: it’s fully manageable from the cockpit and allows any manoeuvre away from the mast.

The conformation of the deck is deliberately essential in terms of form and full of functional solutions, including a generously sized roll bar and the possibility of supporting the tender on the deckhouse. The stern, purposely cut to further improve the load capacity, has been provided with a space to house the tender and quickly make available a bathing platform. The stern is almost water vertical to save space on the deck. A small garage to house the life raft is provided behind the lid that serves as bathing platform. The VPP (Velocity Prediction Program) under average load indicates performance based on wind conditions and sails used. The helm is like your car’s steering wheel. It must be efficient in all conditions, reliable and secure. The sail plan offers a combination of sails for any wind condition, so as to make the boat powerful in light winds, but balanced with strong winds, thanks to the self-tacking staysail.

Reliability and security, but also made in Italy design. The aluminum boats may be customized according to the wishes of the customer who can make out of an AluYacht a boat of "his" own. Below deck there are two large cabins for up to four people. The interiors are spacious and furnished according to the most modern interior design solutions. All the technical elements and systems are designed and arranged to allow comfortable work without requiring disassembly of wooden elements and parts of furniture.

“What inspires me is the desire to create something useful, durable and affordable for everyone” said the worldwide experimented designer Davide Zerbinati, specialized in long-distance cruise yachts. “Each design has its own philosophy and must respect the common denominator of the traditional, comfortable, fast, secure as well as straightforward maintenance and management, safety and comfort.
