Grand Soleil 45

Summarizing racing victories model GS 44 Race achieved during the summer 2002 (World, European and Italian Championships), shipyard Catiere del Pardo in cooperation with designers’ duo Judel/Vrolijk (winners of the America’s Cup – Alinghi), has decided to launch new cruiser/racer for the season of 2004. By her appearance and characteristics (narrow and straight bow, high topsides, the biggest width on transom), Grand Soleil 45 has generation mark of model GS 44 Race, since this sailing boat has been thoroughly observed during races, in nearly extreme conditions, which enabled exact inspection of shape, used materials and sails’ design. This brought complete “know-how” for the cruiser/racer series, which resulted in Grand Soleil 45 that has condensed performances, speed and safety. Standard keel is considerably deep (2,30 metres), while special shallow keel for cruises amounts to reasonable 1,90 m. Who intend to use GS 45 solely for racing purposes, can extra purchase adequate racing keel of even 2,70 metres. Interior (designed by Patric Roseo), with three or four cabins, large saloon and two heads, enables crew to spend the free time in traditionally high level of comfort with lots of light and functionally arranged surfaces as suits sailing boat of this category.
