Skagen 50

A good-looking boat by any standard, the Skagen 50 is a classy sedan cruiser with a traditional trewler-style profile. She is devoted to the new generation of experienced powerboaters and mature sailors who are looking for a more comfortable and satisfying way of serious cruising. In this part of boating world, where the sailing and powerboating cultures meet, the yacht has to offer a strong, reliable and seaworthy (offshore) hull that can be handled by owner/wife crew, giving generous and comfortable accommodation for a longer stay aboard for the couple plus occasional guests or (grand) children, long range and self-sufficient capacities for longer cruise in sailing areas with non-developed infrastructure (water, food, fuel, safe harbours,…) and traditional noble values throughout looks, styling, woodwork. Built on semi-displacement hull (efficient, comfortable ride, easy to handle and safe offshore performance), she has a deep protective keel which provides directional stability at slow speeds and following seas & reduces roll and guarantees well-protected rudder and running gear. The layout plan feauters three decks levels with plenty of space. Well-protected cockpit has vast area for lounging and relaxing, well connection to main saloon and is protected from sun, wind and spray. Pilothouse is equiped with side door port and starboard for fast and comfortable access to boat sides, a must for narrow quarters manouvers. Also, a direct access from pilothouse to the flybridge for fast change of steering station is an important safety factor in all critical situations. Vast flybridge area has unmatched comfort on the spacious terrace above the sea for unobstructed visibility steering, entertaining or sun-lounging. Aditional feauters include spacious, well lit and aerated interior for long-term and long-range comfort for a crew of up to 6 and well arranged engine room. Skagen 50 is offering a maximum speed of appr. 20-22 knots with 2x450 HP and a cruising speed of say 16-18 knots. Basic motorization of say 2 x 370 HP should give cruising 15 knots and max 18/19 knots. The speed is attainable at full load displacement of 24 T. At the same time the hull runs very smooth at displacement speed of say 8-9 knots giving a very good range.
