Beneteau Swift Trawler 52

The Swift Trawler 52 is a large yacht with excellent sea-keeping qualities, conceived for living at sea. Her semi-planing hull, designed by Bénéteau’s Michel Joubert and Bernard Nivelt, gives increased performance compared to the Trawlers’ classic displacement hulls, whilst retaining the exceptional seakeeping qualities. The unique experience of Joubert and Nivelt combined with the advanced basin tests of the hull have produced the right balance between performance and seaworthiness.
The wheelhouse deck accommodates the main living room: the saloon and its extension, the galley separated by a counter suspended on a pillar. The saloon is set off by a wide U-shaped sofa, two armchairs around the bar unit and a large swivelling, folding table. The galley has been thought out in the minutest detail, with great care taken that it should still be practical. The helm position and the sea berth forward are totally independent of the saloon and give direct access onto the ‘Portuguese bridge’ via two sliding doors. The main access to the flybridge is from the wheelhouse.
Below, two separate suites with shower and WC will allow four to cruise comfortably. The owner’s cabin is the vessel’s master cabin. Over 12m? and bathed in light, it has an uninterrupted view of the ocean. Fitted with numerous stowage lockers, hanging lockers and a desk, this living space also has very good sound insulation due to its central position. To port there is access to a space with a choice of configurations - as a 3rd cabin with bunk beds, as a dressing room or as a private office. To starboard, it has direct access to the passageway and/or the owner’s head compartment. The owner’s head is fitted with a shower compartment separated from the WC.
The guest cabin at the front of the boat is fitted with a V-shaped berth that can be converted to a double berth. There is an adjoining head compartment with separate shower and WC.
Outside, the large cockpit separated from the passageway by two doors gives access to the sunbathing platform, the machinery space and secondary access to the flybridge. Deep and well-protected side decks surround the whole boat thanks to the ‘Portuguese bridge’. The foredeck fitted with a wide bench seat provides a pleasant sunbathing space.
The Swift Trawler 52 is fitted with two Volvo D9 engines developing 575 HP, shaft mounted and supplied by two inter-connected fuel tanks each containing 2000L. That is the way to plan for long cruises. Estimated speeds in hull basin trials: 18 knots cruising speed and 23 knots maximum speed.
