Beneteau Swift Trawler 42

By presenting Swift 42 at the end of the year 2003, company Beneteau attempted to redefine style of the motor yachts. They managed to transform the representative of the lowest category, described as an altered version of the working boat, to the prestigious high category yacht. This type of boat, besides high comfort, offers many advantages of the fisherman´s hull. The 13.50-metre long Swift 42 is intended for trawler fans and has been designed by the Joubert/Nivelt partnership. On the raised flybridge, there is room behind the mast – this carries a coarse-stabilising stunsail as well as serving as a crane – for a tender, while in front the pilot and co at the helm have the very best of panoramic views. The deckhouse one floor down with sofa, galley section and internal control position is surrounded by safe walkways. A few steps further down, four people are able to spend the night in two cabins sharing a WC with wash basin and a separate shower room. Smooth propulsion is provided by two diesel engines, each developing 200 or 370 HP. Designed for long comfortable cruises for four, this model combines autonomy (over 300 nm), seafaring and high cruising speed (18 knots according to engine) thanks to a semi-planing hull.
