Seatec-Compotec Academy, training center for engineers, architects of the boating industry and composite materials, also confirmed in 2019 editions

IMM CarraraFiere, creator and organizer of Seatec, the exhibition dedicated to technology, components, design and subcontracting for the yachting industry, the only exclusive event for this sector in Italy and southern Europe, in parallel with Compotec "Hi-tech Composites Solutions", the only Italian event dedicated to the composite materials industry and their multiple applications, has entered into a wide range of collaborations with the main associations and trade organizations of the respective sectors, to increase the relationships between customers and suppliers, between cultural institutions and industry , also proposing itself as a coordinator of relations between associations.

Ucina, Nautica Italiana, CNA, Rina, Assocompositi, Polytechnic of Milan, Polytechnic of Turin, Port Authorities of Genoa, La Spezia and Livorno, Assitermina, Assologistica, Fercargo, Confetra, RFI, Autostrade per l'Italia, Unione Italiana Interporti, Fincantieri , are the main companies and institutions that will participate in different roles and integrated into the 17th edition of Seatec and the 11th edition of Compotec, through conferences, workshops and seminars that will point out a wide and diversified range of issues related to the economy of the sea and the ports, the circular economy and recycling, the conservation of the environment, the research on the most innovative materials, but also on the tourist port system and on the situation of refitting in the Mediterranean.

With the 2019 edition of Seatec and Compotec, IMM CarraraFiere reaffirms the activity of Seatec-Compotec Academy an educational offer aimed also to professionals who need CFP, Professional Training Credits to comply with the requests of the respective professional orders, both Engineers, Architects.

Seatec and Compotec operate within the nautical supply chain and composite materials as knowledge suppliers, professional meeting points between offer and demand for professionals in their respective sectors and since their beginnings they propose conference panels full of contents with high technical profiles that deal with topics related to the new dynamics of the nautical and composite market.

Seatec-Compotec Academy is a campus dedicated to professional updating of the sector, a qualified structure able to organize courses, seminars, thematic conferences, round tables, conferences focused on vocational training in the nautical, naval and composite material fields, which ideally continue the paths already institutionalized by the Universities that have departments and schools related to naval and nautical engineering, naval architecture and the numerous fields of applications of the composite materials, such as Genoa, La Spezia, Naples and Trieste.

In addition to the obligation of continuous training, however, the activity of Seatec-Compotec Academy has a concrete and current value in terms of in-depth study, professional updating, scientific learning, improvement of one's professional baggage, for all those who dedicate themselves to the sector. These initiatives are dedicated, at the same time, to fulfill the role of connection between technical culture and the world of production and the supply chain of the various sectors.

With the seminar "New frontiers for the reduction of emissions", Enrico Ursomando, engineer, head of Rina Academy, will examine all the solutions currently under study to reduce the emissions of large engines: batteries, exhaust gas cleaning, alternative fuels, LNG (liquefied natural gas), fuel cell engines, while Fincantieri will present the study carried out together with Cetena for a totally zero emission ship, a project that will be developed in the coming years.

Maurizio Archetti of Ecospray, engineer, will examine in detail the problem of the limitation and control of emissions of large marine engines with solutions proposed by Ecospray itself and solutions applied by Tankoa yard by architect Andrea Parodi, and in the production yacht field by the engineers Michelangelo Casadei of Ferretti Group, Paolo Bertetti, of Sanlorenzo, Giorgio Gallo of Rina and Stefano Pagani of Ucina.

Solutions are not around the corner and will require significant investment from shipyards, as well as engine manufacturers such as Mtu, Caterpillar, Man and Volvo, who will be able to present their in-house solutions.

The theme of the logistic / port industry chain with the role of the harbors in the Central and Northern Tyrrhenian Sea for the Italian and European economy and the analysis of the specializations of the ports of the Central and Northern Tyrrhenian Sea will open the workshop of the 2019 editions of Seatec and Compotec completed by analysis of intramodality and backward logistics in the Central and Northern Tyrrhenian Sea transport system.

Two other topics of burning current interest are the analysis of the circular economy and the relative recycling of materials, strictly connected to the disposal of no longer-usable boats.

As part of the analysis of the tourist port system, the problem of bureaucracy will be analyzed, which is holding back the evolution of the marinas. The recent case of the storm in Liguria and the damages it caused will be a major topic of the analysis. The conference will also be attended by the councilor for the Region Property and Tourism of the Tuscany Region Stefano Ciuoffo.
